Fix common VibeRaven problems

By Ohad Krispin, founder of VibeRaven · LinkedIn

Find the message you see and the fix for it.

Before you start

  • The app page open on viberaven.dev, and a terminal on the computer that has the app.

Steps

  • Find the area below that matches what you see: the computer connection, the coding agent, the preview or the version.
  • Apply the fix, then try the same step again.

What you should see

  • The step that failed works, or you know which part to look at next.

If it does not work

  • None of these match: Note the exact message and the step you were on, and open an issue at github.com/ohad6k/VibeRaven/issues. Leave out tokens, keys and private code.

The computer will not connect

  • "This connect line has expired or was already used." Each line works once, for 10 minutes. Get a new one with "Connect this computer".
  • "That terminal was in a different project or branch." Open the terminal in the app's folder on the right branch, then run a fresh line.
  • Connected, then "Not connected" again. The terminal window was closed or the computer slept. Run a fresh line and keep the window open.
  • npx fails right away. Check node -v: VibeRaven needs Node.js 20 or newer.

The coding agent is not ready

  • "[agent] is not ready on this computer" means the quick test before the change failed: the agent is not installed or not signed in. Start the agent's CLI in a terminal on that computer, sign in, and send the request again.
  • Installed is not enough. The agent must also be signed in to its own account on that computer.

The preview does not load

  • VibeRaven starts your app on your computer once, at the "Start your app" step. It needs a dev, start or preview script in package.json.
  • If the app did not start, there is no preview, and the Page loads check says "The preview did not answer." Start the app yourself to see its error.
  • The preview is shown inside the page from your own computer. If the frame stays blank, select "Open" to view it in its own tab.
  • If you are viewing the website on a phone or another computer, the localhost preview does not reach the computer running your app. Open the app page in a browser on that computer to try its preview.

An old version

  • "This computer's VibeRaven is too old to make changes." Run the connect line from the app page again.
  • If the message comes back, change viberaven to viberaven@latest in the line so npx asks for the newest release.

Out of changes

  • "You used your 2 free changes." Pro is $20 a month for 300 changes. Ask mode does not use a change, but it needs one left to start.
  • "You used this month's 300 changes." More are available when your billing month renews.

Checked

Checked on October 15, 2026, by reading the website code through PR #50 and VibeRaven CLI 1.6.10. Website revisions are separate from CLI releases. Not a recorded end-to-end run.

VibeRaven is built for apps on Vercel + Supabase. Its checks are advice, not a gate: you decide what to ship. They read your repository and run your project's own scripts, so they are a repository check, not a live database or security test.
