The local check, `changes`, `fix`, `init` and the MCP servers need no account. An account adds app changes from viberaven.dev and full checks from the Studio; your coding agent can open one with `login --json`, and you approve it in your own browser.

What needs no account

  • check, changes, fix, prompt, init, audit and rls-test.
  • The local Studio, opened with npx -y viberaven.
  • The hosted MCP server at https://viberaven.dev/mcp and the local @viberaven/mcp server.

They stay free whether or not you sign up.

Sign in from a coding agent

An agent opens the account for you; you approve it in your own browser. The agent never signs in, approves or pays for you.

  1. The agent runs login --json in the background. It prints one JSON line to stderr, with a link and an expiry time.

  2. It shows you the actionUrl. You open it, sign in with Google and approve. The link expires after about 10 minutes.
  3. The command then prints "state": "authenticated" and keeps the session in a private local credential store. Nothing it prints holds a token.

With --json, the command never opens a browser itself; it waits up to 10 minutes, then exits 1 if the link expired or was denied. Nothing is created or charged then. Without a terminal, open viberaven.dev/go/agent/try_it instead. The full agent flow is in auth.md.

Signed out, it exits 1 with "state": "requires_connection" and the login command to run next.

Your coding agent's subscription or API usage is separate. Current plans are on pricing. A step that needs payment returns a checkout link: open it yourself; an agent never pays for you.
